Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is probably the best know and oldest animal rescue centres in England, perhaps the world? The centre is almost 150 years old and still going from strength to strength.

Dogs Trust

PDSA

2010 will see the PDSA celebrate 93 years of caring for unwell and injured animals that belong to people who are themselves, in need. The PDSA has become the UK's leading veterinary charity.

The Wood Green Animal Shelters Charity has been actively rehoming animals since 1924. Providing loving homes for animals and offering advice and support to pet owners. Wood Green strives to increase the public's responsibility towards animals in society.
 

Blue Cross

In 1897 Our Dumb Friends League was founded. In 1958 the league officially became known as The Blue Cross. In 2009 this animal welfare charity is still providing support to the nation's pets and their owners.
 

National Animal Welfare Trust
